About this gathering
Makara Sankranti is not just a festival—it is a solar threshold, a moment when time itself changes direction. On this day the Sun enters Capricorn (Makara) in sidereal Vedic astrology and begins its northward journey, Uttarayana. This is one of the rare moments in the year governed by the actual movement of the Sun, marking a shift from introspection to embodied forward motion, from survival to purposeful construction in life, relationships and work. Capricorn is ruled by Saturn, the great teacher of patience, integrity and karmic law. When the Sun enters Saturn's domain, commitment replaces impulse, consistency replaces intensity and direction replaces distraction. Ancient yogic and Vedic systems recognized this as a destiny-reset point, when discipline becomes supportive, effort becomes fruitful and clarity replaces confusion. From a yogic and Ayurvedic lens, the northward Sun supports improved cerebrospinal fluid flow, the rebuilding of Ojas, and a nervous system shift from protection to constructive engagement. This live global Kundalini and Vedic community event includes Kundalini Yoga aligned to the solar shift, nervous-system-safe breathwork, meditation for discipline and destiny alignment, Vedic insights translated into real-life application, and simple at-home ritual guidance using sesame seeds and jaggery. Offered online via Zoom with a recording shared to registered participants.
